Today is Tuesday, March 2 and all of the worksite coordinators should have received the participant confirmations for their workplace.  If you did not list a worksite coordinator, you are still registered for the event but you may not receive your confirmation in advance.

If you haven't registered yet, we are still accepting registrations up until Thursday, March 4. If you registered after February 19, you may not receive a confirmation but that does not mean that you are registered. You should have a package waiting for you at there IWD Registration Table.

Please visit the Exhibitor  page for an updated listing of this year's exhibitors.

Please read on for useful information for participants:

1. Parking - As mentioned on the website, there is pay parking available at the Holiday Inn Harbourview.  Subsequent to last year's event, the hotel moved to a "pay and display" parking system that is operated by a separate company.  This is a big change from the free parking that was available at the hotel for past IWD events.  (Note: Any participants attending the dance workshop at the Dartmouth Sportsplex should be able to park there for free.)

2. Transportation - We encourage participants to car pool, share a taxi or take the bus.  There is a bus transfer station right across the street, so the hotel is quite accessible by Metro Transit.

3. Lunch - While the committee does not have the budget to provide nutrition breaks or lunch, the hotel will again offer a buffet lunch to participants.  They will sell buffet tickets that day for $15.00 tax and gratuity included.  The buffet will include soup, salads, sandwiches and pastries, with some vegetarian choices.

If the buffet lunch is not of interest, other options include the coffee shop downstairs, the hotel dining room, a McDonalds up the street, the coffee shop in the Sportsplex, as well as a few other restaurants in the Wyse Road area.

If anyone has special dietary needs, we encourage them to make arrangements with the hotel dining room.

4. Raffle! - The DFO Network of Women will have a table in the Exhibits area and will display a painting generously donated by a local artist.  They plan to raffle it off as an IWD fundraiser.  Don't miss this!

5. Silent Auction! - The IWD Organizing Committee is holding a Silent Auction all day as a fundraiser to help offset the costs of the event.  Great items, cash only, bidding ends at 3pm.  Start your Mother's Day or holiday shopping early!

6. Special Exhibitor! - we are very pleased to have "Work for Widows" as one of the exhibitors and expect that they will be selling their jewellery and other items.

7. IWD Charity - In recognition of the earthquake in Haiti (horribly followed by another earthquake in Chile) the committee selected the Red Cross as our charity for this year.  We will have a donation bottle at the organizing committee table.  Participants are urged to bring a loonie, toonie, or whatever they wish to donate.

8. Scent Free - A number of women attending this event are sensitive to scents whether because of asthma, allergies, environmental illness or multiple chemical sensitivities.  We ask everyone to please respect this by not wearing scented products.  In the past, some participants have actually had to leave the event because of others wearing scents.

9. Smoke free - The Holiday Inn Harbourview is now a smoke free property.
